Ducklings Early Learning Center was founded by Jody Thompson, an early childhood educator with more than 30 years of experience and a background in child psychology. In the late 1980s, while teaching in a daycare setting, she recognized the need to combine quality childcare with structured early education. She developed an innovative curriculum that transformed traditional daycare into a comprehensive learning environment. In 1994, after the local YMCA preschool where she served as Director closed, Jody opened the first Ducklings Early Learning Center to continue serving local families. What began as a single, family-owned school has grown into a respected childcare brand with multiple corporate and franchise locations, built on a commitment to educational excellence, strong family values, and community impact.
